This morning I had the chance to sleep in some... I woke up around 7:30 AM. After trying to sleep for a couple more hours, I got up, went to Buccee's, and got some coffee. It was still a great morning and I'm grateful to have the day to lounge and rejuvenate before another work week.
Yesterday, Steph, Shea, and I went to Victoria, TX to check out the city and tour a few homes. It was exciting and also a bit stressful. Being an adult and doing things for the first time is scary. The good news is that we loved the city; it is so cute and quaint. We looked at 5 homes, some of which were NO go's, and one or two which we liked. We are trying to decided between getting a cheaper house we can fix up, or paying a little more for one that is more updated.
We are currently going through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace class, so we are learning a lot about saving, paying off debt, the best way to buy a home, car, etc. It has been very helpful as we navigate all of this new. I will say that while it is important to listen to those who have gone before us, it is also important to think about what is best for you (and husband, kids, etc). Sometimes I get so wrapped up in making sure that I do all of the "right" things so no one is disappointed in me. It's too much pressure. Be smart about things, ask for advice, don't be prideful, and then do the best you can. That's my whole take on all this "adult stuff."
After we looked at some homes, we played around with my new tripod, phone stand. It was so much fun and there were MANY laughs. Overall, it was a fun day and I'm so excited for all that is instore for us. We just have to make it through these 7 months of long distance while Shea is in training. We've done it before while dating, but this will be a whole different story after being married for 2 years. Any and all tips welcome!
Have a great Sunday, friend,
